What's New...

Over the last few weeks, we've been doing quite a lot of improvements on the site.  These went live on Monday 24th of November.

Here are a few of them:

Video on how to download to your own computer

The Help page, http://www.choreographytogo.com/HelpInfo.asp now contains a link to the first of a new series of help videos designed to show new users how to get the best out of the ChoreographyToGo system.  Unfortunately, this video was recorded before the current round of changes was complete - we'll update it shortly - but it does still give (I hope) a clear view of how easy it is to download videos and use the downloaded copies.  The advantage of downloading is that you can view the videos even when you don't have an internet connection - so it's great for storing videos directly on your laptop and having them as a resource when you're away.

If people like this approach to advice on using the site, we will extend it and add further videos to the site help.

Improved sorting of "All choreography" and related lists

You can now click the column headers of the choreography lists, and sort the lists into any of the following orders:

• Category
• Title
• Date Added
• Length
• Size in MB
• Price in Tokens
• Price in £.

Clicking more than once on a column allows you to choose between ascending order (e.g. oldest to newest,  shortest to longest) or descending order (e.g. newest to oldest, longest to shortest).

"Video Detail"

There have been a number of minor improvements in layout on the video detail page, particularly giving more prominence to the video title

Downloads

Downloads now create a file name made up of the video title and the code, rather than just the code.  That makes it much easier for you to find a particular video that you have downloaded.

Your own notes stored against videos

There is a new facility in the video detail page that allows you to add your own notes against the videos you have purchased.   The notes are currently quite short - only 255 characters - we might make this longer later if there is a need.

Just type in your notes and hit the "Save Notes" button.   Whenever you go back to that video, your notes will be there for you. 

TThey're stored at the server, not in a cookie, so they will follow you from computer to computer.  They are not visible to other users of the system, so you can use them for things like when you last used them in a class, how they were received, and so on. 

The system automatically notes when you last changed the notes for each video, and will show that information in the "My Videos" page.

New Information in "My Videos"

The "My Videos" page now shows for each video

• When you purchased it,
• When you last edited a note for it,
• When you most recently downloaded or viewed it,
• how many times you have downloaded or viewed it (since the updates were uploaded).

We know that the counting is not yet quite right, but we thought it useful enough already to let you start using it...

Improved sorting of "My Videos"

You can now click the column headers in "My Videos" and sort the lists into any of the following orders:

• Type (Video or EBook)
• When you purchased it
• When you last edited a note for it
• When you last viewed or downloaded it
• How many times you have downloaded or viewed it (since the updates were loaded)

Improved sorting and formatting on "Workshop Booking"

The system has been changed to make the layout of the Booking Grid more consistent.

You can now sort by:

• Event Name
• Date the event starts
• Day of the week it's on
• Area/City the event is to be in
• Name of club  the event is to be in
• Cost of Event

As elsewhere, you can sort in ascending or descending order...

Miscellaneous changes

LoLogging in

• We have found some occasional problems in the system for sending reminders of login passwords.  In particular, there was no on-screen notification that the reminder had in fact been sent.  This has been fixed, and the reminders are now much clearer when they arrive. 
• There is now also a link in the reminder.  Clicking the link takes you directly to the site and logs you in. 

Expired accounts

• We've made it clearer what happens when your account expires, and made it easier to get back into the system.

"Buy With Tokens"

When you buy a video with tokens, there is now an immediate confirmation that your purchase has happened.

Shopping Basket

TThis has been changed to make sure you can't get from the checkout to the credit card payment pages when the actual value in the shopping basket is zero.  A few people have managed this in the past, and received a very unhelpful error message; this should no longer happen.
